Blog Rules

Welcome to Year 4’s Blog

Our blog is a way for us to share our fantastic ideas and learning with other people. Reinforced with our recent e-safety workshop we know that sharing our learning means that it is very important that we understand how to use the blog and the Internet in a secure way.

The following guidelines have been established to ensure our safety when blogging. The guidelines are also reminders of how to use the blog to improve writing and keyboarding skills.

Basics

  • Keep your details private
  • Never use your last name on your page
  • Don’t give or post your home email, home address, telephone or mobile number to anyone.
  • Keep your passwords safe.
  • Don’t give them to anyone.
  • Inform a member of staff if you think someone has used any details.

Conduct online

Remember online behaviour should be the same as offline behaviour!

  • You may not log in using anyone else’s user name or password;
  • Ask permission before you write about anyone;
  • Only put links that your teacher approves;
  • You may not post anything that is rude or insulting to others.

If you post at home remember it is the same as posting at school so the school rules apply.

Make sure it is your own work!

Make sure that all work you post online is your own work and not copied from anyone else.

What happens if you break the rules?

Every blog is monitored by your teacher and by moderators. If someone breaks a rule the following may happen:

  • You may be asked to put it right;
  • Your parents may be informed;
  • You will be warned about your future behaviour;
  • Your blog/password may be temporarily suspended, or even deleted.

Anyone who keeps breaking the rules will no longer be allowed to blog.
